I've been able to find very little about Norbert Niewelt other than Mario di Nardo, a respected Canadian designer of the 1950s and 1960s who learned "European couture" while apprenticing with Norbert Niewelt for one year. This Norbert Niewelt dress is beautifully hand sewn using high quality silk fabric with a metallic gold "branch" pattern woven into it. The dress is made
