Polianthes bundrantii Mexican Firecracker Gentiana the leaves are burned back(aka: Polianthes Y09 61) Polianthes 'Mexican Firecracker' is a very rare tuberose hybrid from the former Yucca Do Nursery, of a cross between two North American natives, Polianthes tuberosa and Polianthes howardii. The deciduous, small, rubbery leaf clumps produce large numbers of 3' tall spikes for us in late June, each laden with narrow, tubular flowers which are salmon on the exterior, with a rusty red interior, and a bright yellow throat. Although
